Ouse Meadow

Campsite

Please note that our basic washing up areas have been removed for this season and ask all campers to wash up at their pitches.

We have a limited number of washing up bowls/liquid available at reception.

We are now taking bookings for spring/summer 2024

WELCOME TO OUSE MEADOW CAMPSITE

Ouse Meadow is an idyllic East Sussex campsite situated directly opposite Bluebell Railway, next door to Sheffield Park Gardens and offers a back-to-nature experience in the East Sussex countryside with the Ouse Valley footpath just meters away. We set out to offer people the chance to camp in natural countryside across three meadows without excessive rules and regulations, the emphasis here is on peace and quiet, back to basics with small campfires in firepits are allowed (firepits available for hire, logs and kindling sold on site).

Spread over 3 meadows:

Main Meadow, rope swings, hammocks, wooded areas and river to explore whilst staying near toilets and showers. Cars are allowed to unload then park away from pitches(approx 40m). A real family favourite.

Railway Meadow, our largest camping meadow, sited away from the riverbank. Cars are allowed to park next to pitches.

Little Brooks Meadow, this is our couples and adults only meadow or is available for sole usage for large groups (can easily accommodate 30-40 tents). This is my favorite campsite area of approx 2 acres along the riverbank and away from the crowds.

Pizza Van on site most Saturday evenings (will add menu and dates asap).

We have a fantastic location with just enough in the way of facilities to make a great break. We added more rope swings, badminton, table football, table tennis and swingball setups, six fabulous hot outdoor showers and clean new toilet blocks. We don’t have set pitches or electrical hook-ups and are tents and small camper vans only. No caravans, you pitch in the spot that suits you and get down to the serious business of relaxing without any fuss.

Please be aware that there is an unfenced river running along one side of the campsite.

We allow small campfires off ground (firepits available to hire) and quiet, well behaved dogs (cleaning up after your dog is a must). As far as possible we let campers get on with making their own worlds in the countryside. We provide a beautiful piece of land and a pleasant atmosphere, plus toilets, hot showers, fresh water and outdoor games.
